Terms
Terms for downloads and documentation.
Last updated May 11, 2026. These terms cover this static website, the hosted release files, and the verification materials provided beside them.
Scope
What these terms apply to
These terms apply to the Electrum ZEC website, its internal documentation pages, checksum manifests, and the release files served from the local releases/ folder.
By using the site or downloading a file, you are responsible for reviewing these terms, the Privacy page, and the verification guide.
Downloads
Release files are provided for user verification
- Download paths point to files currently present in
releases/. - Checksums are published so users can detect changed, incomplete, or corrupted files.
- Do not run a file if its checksum does not match the values in Checksums.
- No detached signature files are currently bundled, and the site does not pretend otherwise.
Verification
Verification is part of the install path
Wallet software should be treated as high-risk software. You should verify the file hash, review signature status, and inspect platform signing output where your operating system supports it.
Self-custody
You are responsible for wallet secrets
Desktop wallet use is self-custodial. You are responsible for seed phrases, private keys, wallet files, passwords, backups, device security, and transaction review before broadcast.
If any page, popup, support message, or download flow asks for a seed phrase or private key, stop and do not continue.
Risk
No financial, tax, or legal advice
The site provides release links and documentation. It does not provide investment, tax, legal, custody, accounting, or compliance advice. You decide whether a wallet, release file, network path, or transaction is appropriate for your situation.
External links
External links are minimized
The current navigation favors internal pages for docs, verification, terms, privacy, and Zcash context. If future pages add external source repositories, protocol resources, or community channels, those destinations are maintained by their own operators and should be reviewed separately.
Warranty
Provided as-is
The website, documentation, checksum manifests, and downloads are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or loss-free wallet use.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site operators and contributors are not liable for lost funds, lost keys, incorrect transactions, device compromise, network failures, or use of modified files.
Updates
Changes to these terms
Terms should be updated when release handling, external links, hosting, privacy behavior, or verification materials change. Keep the date at the top current and keep links internal unless an external route is necessary.
